Sunday Sermon - February 1, 2026
|
Speaker: Pastor T. C. Johnson
Date: February 1, 2026
Topic: Seeing God again for the First Time
Scripture: John 14:7
Sermon Summary
Topic: Seeing Jesus for the First Time
John 14:7-11 (KJV) 7 If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him. 8 Philip saith unto him, Lord, shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us. 9 Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father? 10 Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works. 11 Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works' sake.
Spiritual strength and transformation come from God working within the life of the believer through His Spirit. In Ephesians 3, Paul reveals to the Gentiles that they are fully included in God’s family and redemptive plan. This is good news because it confirms that the gospel message is for everyone. As believers, we must reject judgement, division, and exclusion, and instead receive and extend God’s grace, love, and invitation to experience the fullness of Christ. Being a part of God’s family brings benefits such as access to eternal life, God’s presence, power, and promises. It also brings responsibilities and expectations including representing God well, walking in love, and remaining faithful even when facing hardship. Paul is an excellent example of faithfulness by continuing his mission while imprisoned, showing that believers can be physically bound but spiritually free. In 2026, God is calling believers to put greater emphasis on inner spiritual strengthening rather than outward appearance, trusting that the Holy Spirit will empower, sustain, and transform us from the inside out so we may fully live out God’s purpose in the earth.
Be Blessed,
Pastor T.C. Johnson
