Sunday Message Summary

Speaker: Pastor T.C. Johnson

Date: Sunday, March 9, 2025

Topic: "Be still and see the salvation of the lord"

Scripture:  Exodus 14:10-14 (KJV)

From the desk of Pastor T.C. Johnson

Scripture Reading -  Exodus 14:10-14 (KJV)

10.  And when Pharaoh drew nigh, the children of Israel lifted up their eyes, and, behold, the Egyptians marched after them; and they were sore afraid: and the children of Israel cried out unto the LORD.
11.  And they said unto Moses, Because there were no graves in Egypt, hast thou taken us away to die in the wilderness? wherefore hast thou dealt thus with us, to carry us forth out of Egypt?
12. Is not this the word that we did tell thee in Egypt, saying, Let us alone, that we may serve the Egyptians? For it had been better for us to serve the Egyptians, than that we should die in the wilderness.
13.  And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD, which he will shew to you to day: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen to day, ye shall see them again no more for ever.
14.  The LORD shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.

Sermon Summary

It is understandable to become afraid when threatened by dangerous situations and there is no seeable defense or way out. It is hard when you find yourself surrounded by obstacles that prevent you from escaping evil forces that are in pursuit armed with the intent to destroy. This is the case of God’s people in the text, but Moses tells them not to be afraid even though he knows that they are unable to defend themselves. Moses relied on his personal knowledge and experience of God’s powerful work to deliver His people. So, he tells them to stand still and watch God work (fight) on the behalf of His people. We must remember in these times that we too have come this far by faith, leaning on the Lord. Know that the Lord has promised that He will never leave or forsake us. Our world is in utter chaos and the uncertainty can be frightening because it doesn’t appear that we have the power to change any of the bad things that are or may adversely affect us, but let’s trust and believe that the same God who bought us through the storms of yesterday will get us through the storms that we face today.

Be Blessed,

Pastor T.C. Johnson
