Sunday Sermon - October 26, 2025
|
Speaker: Pastor T.C Johnson
Date: Sunday, October 26, 2025
Topic: "What Good Is Your Religion"
Scripture: - Matthew 5:13 (KJV)
Scripture Reading - Matthew 5:13 (KJV) 13 Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.
Sermon Summary
The crowds were evidence that the ministry of Jesus was gaining momentum. They were being intrigued by the messages of God’s Kingdom and its presence and availability to all who would believe. In the preceding verses Jesus teaches the crowd about the attitude they must possess if they were to become His followers. He uses salt’s relationship and the difference that the preservative seasoning has on food to symbolize the way His followers should maintain and make a difference as it relates to slowing down the moral and spiritual decay, corruption, and godlessness that would otherwise prevail in the world. The Christian’s very presence, godly conduct, and witness can act as a preservative agent in society. Believers should enrich the quality of life around them, bringing and spreading God’s grace, truth, and love into a dark and sometimes dismal world.
In Jesus’ time, salt was collected from places like the Dead Sea bed, it would be mixed with other minerals. Sometimes it would be stored on surfaces of the earth and over time the sodium chloride or actual salt would leak or be drained leaving a tasteless mass that would be placed in walkways. This was to say that if Believers lose the ability to be different from and make a difference in the world by being too close to the world, they will become useless and disrespected. The question for each of us is, what good is our religion? How does it make us different from the world around us. What difference do we make in the world, our communities, our families, or our jobs? Let’s do some reflection, What Good Is Your Religion?
Be Blessed,
Pastor TC Johnson

November is National Family Caregivers Month
|
National Family Caregiver Month is celebrated every November to recognize and honor the contributions of family caregivers across the United States. This observance aims to raise awareness of caregiving issues, educate communities, and increase support for caregivers, who number over 63 million in the country. It is also an opportunity to promote mental health, encourage respite care, and remind caregivers to take care of themselves. Various organizations and programs, including the VA Caregiver Support Program, participate in activities to support and honor caregivers during this month.

Hey Family! Just a reminder that the open enrollment period for Medicare begins today and goes thru Dec 7.
This is for start date Jan 1 2026. Please be sure to review your plan and any changes that will take place next year. A lot of changes will take place next year. Some surprises that could be disruptive: your copay may increase, your provider may not be covered anymore, your plan may no longer be offered in your area, your meds may be in a different tier than before causing a change in price, the deductible could have increased. These changes won’t really be announced
My suggestion- get a list of your meds, get a list of your providers (primary care and any specialists you expect to see for any reason), any procedures/treatments expected, etc and find that letter from September if you have it (from your current plan) to review any changes. Or call 1-800-Medicare (633-4227)
