Text: Psalm 119:67-71
Subject: I thought it was Going to Break Me, but it Really Blessed Me!!!
God allows us to go through certain situations to teach us valuable life lessons. Some life lessons are not learned until we go through afflictions. There is a purpose and plan that God has behind allowing us to experience afflictions. God could stop us from going through afflictions, but if He did, we would not learn the lessons that He has in store for us. Afflictions are not designed to hurt you but help you to grow and mature. If it was not for my afflictions, I would not be the person that I am today. He will allow you to go through it and He will allow you to Grow through it!!! It’s not breaking you; it’s really blessing you!!! Psalm 119 is the longest of all the Psalms and it is the longest chapter in the Bible. The author is anonymous, but almost each verse is mentioning God's word. The Psalmist in verse 67 says that, "Before I was afflicted I went astray, but now have I kept thy word." When things are going well we often get relaxed, comfortable, become less committed, and tend to move away from the things of God. So, God has to allow some afflictions to come our way to get us back on the right track and redirect our attention back to God. So, the Psalmist had gone astray prior to being afflicted but ended in obeying God's word as a result. Then in verse 68 the Psalmist recognized that even though they had to experience some afflictions, God was still good, and what God does is still good, so simply stated, "It's all good!!!" The writer then talks about the enemies that have smeared lies and desired to do harm. Your enemies might mean something for your evil, but the Lord will turn it around for your good. "No weapon formed against me shall be able to prosper..." It didn't say that the weapons wouldn't form, but it said they shall not prosper (amount to anything) and so God allowed it to happen teach me that He is in control of it. What I learned is that if God be for me, who can be against me... So, at the end of the day- It's all good!!! Finally, verse 71 said, "It is good for me that I have been afflicted; that I might learn thy statutes." Notice that he did not say, "it felt good to me" or "looked good to me", but "it is good for me." I remember growing up years ago, Grandmother would administer medicine like Castor oil, Cod liver oil, Father John’s etc., and these did not taste good, but they never said the medicines would taste good to you, but they were good for you. God did not promise that the afflictions that you go through would feel good or look good, but they were good for you.

Medical Ministry MomentAIDS / HIV significantly impact women and girls more than males due to a combination of factors. Women, particularly young women, are more susceptible to HIV transmission than men. Limited access to healthcare exacerbates their vulnerability to HIV / AIDS transmittal.
