Sermon Summary

Subject: Trust Him Again

Scripture: Psalm 91:1–2

Preacher: Rev. Marvis Moore

Psalm 91 reminds believers that true security is not found in circumstances, possessions, or people, but in the presence of God. The psalmist declares that those who dwell in the "secret place of the Most High" will abide under the shadow of the Almighty. This intimate relationship with God provides peace, protection, and confidence even in life's most uncertain moments.

The message, "Trust Him Again," challenges believers to renew their confidence in God after disappointment, pain, unanswered prayers, or seasons of struggle. Life can leave us discouraged and hesitant to believe again, but God has never failed to keep His promises. The same God who sustained us in yesterday's trials is faithful enough to carry us through today's challenges and tomorrow's uncertainties.

Verse 2 emphasizes the importance of a personal confession of faith: "I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust." Trust is more than a feeling—it is a decision to rely on God's character despite what our eyes can see. When we declare God as our refuge, we acknowledge that He is our safe place, our defender, and our source of strength.

To trust Him again means:

Return to God's presence through prayer and worship.

Remember His faithfulness in your past.

Release fear and replace it with faith.

Rest in His promises even when the outcome is unclear.

Reaffirm that God is your refuge, fortress, and protector.

No matter how many setbacks or disappointments have come your way, God's invitation remains the same: come close, remain under His covering, and place your confidence in Him once again. The safest place a believer can be is in the will and presence of God. When we choose to trust Him again, we discover that His grace is still sufficient, His power is still unmatched, and His love is still unfailing.

Key Thought:

You may have been hurt, disappointed, or shaken by life's storms, but God has not changed. His promises still stand. Trust Him again, because the God who was faithful yesterday is faithful today and forever.

The St. Luke Christian Church Music Ministry is excited about presenting music that uplifts and blesses everyone.  We are growing and looking for new members for all ensembles. If you are interested in joining, please reach out to Reverend Marvis Moore via 256-721-1294.

The food pantry hours are Monday - Wednesday from 9:30am - 2:00pm to serve our community. Donations to the pantry are always appreciated so if you would like to donate, feel free to bring those donations during pantry hours and one of our volunteers will be happy to receive them.
