Topic: "Living In The Presence of God"
Scripture: Genesis 12:1-4 & Genesis 17: 1-2
Scripture Reading - Genesis 12:1-4 1 Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, unto a land that I will shew thee: 2 And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: 3 And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed. 4 So Abram departed, as the LORD had spoken unto him; and Lot went with him: and Abram was seventy and five years old when he departed out of Haran.
Genesis 17:1-2 (KJV) 1 And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the LORD appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect. 2 And I will make my covenant between me and thee, and will multiply thee exceedingly.
Be Blessed,
Sermon Summary
I was raised in my grandparents’ home along with lots of cousins, and as I look back reflectively, I remember that most, if not all of us behaved differently when grandmother was home than when she was away. We would do and say things that we dared not do or say in granny’s presence. We would sometimes fuss, fight, and treat each other in ways that would not have been tolerated before grandmother. In the text above God tells Abram (Abraham) to walk or live as if God is always present. God promised that if Abram would live in the awareness of God’s presence, respecting and honoring God in his actions toward God which would be demonstrated in the way he behaved toward others, he would be exceedingly multiplied. I have noticed that I also do things differently when I remember that God is with me and he is there to bless me and those who bless me. Our Lord, Jesus Christ said that He will be with us always. Does your day to day living reflect the presence of Jesus?
Be Blessed,
Pastor T.C. Johnson

September is National Pain Awareness Month
|
Pain Awareness Month is a time to reflect on the needs of the millions of people with chronic pain and to celebrate the research that aims to better prevent and treat it. Chronic pain is highly persistent, with almost two-thirds of those who reported chronic pain still experiencing it a year later. There are more new cases of chronic pain in the United States per year than new cases of hypertension, depression, or diabetes. The NIH supports a comprehensive research portfolio to address this pressing need, and the NIH Pain Consortium hosts a symposium to highlight NIH-funded research related to pain.
