Corner Evaluation: Who’s in your corner?
Mark 2: 3-5
This Story is also found in Matthew 9 and Luke 5. Jesus had been baptized by John Chapter 1, tempted by the devil, and performed several miracles. Now in Chapter 2, He’s preaching to some people and the house is packed. There’s a paralytic man being carried by four men. When they tried to enter through the door, they could not enter because of the crowd.
1. Believers-Surround yourself with people who want the best for you. These four men didn’t sit to observe the situation and walk away; they wanted to make a difference.
2. Determination- Will cause you take dead weight up the stairs, pull the roof off, and lower a man down for healing.
3. Strength – Physical strength and spiritual strength are equally important.
4. Faith- It was the faith of the men that captured the attention of Jesus.
Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please Him: for he that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him.
Those four men believed. They were determined. They had Strength and Faith! Overall, they had love for the paralytic!
The man came in on a mat but left carrying the mat! His sins were forgiven, and he was healed! All because he had someone in His corner! If God be for us, who can be against us!
